Siarhei Malanchuk is a resident of Hrodna, sentenced to two years of restricted freedom in an open-type correctional facility for contempt of a government official (Art 369 of the Criminal Code).
Siarhei was accused of insulting the former Minister of Internal Affairs Yury Karayeu in a Telegram chat. According to the investigation, with his comment, Malanchuk "infringed on the authority of state power and humiliated the honor and dignity of Major-General Yury Karayeu."
On 21 June 2021 Siarhei began to serve his sentence.
