Siarhei Lahutkin was sentenced to two years in a maximum-security penal colony under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Group actions grossly violating public order).

According to the investigation, on the evening of August 9–10, 2020, Siarhei Lahutkin together with other protesters moved along the central streets of Minsk. He also together with others shouted slogans, blocked road traffic, which led to the disruption of public transport. He did not respond to the lawful demands of police officers to stop illegal actions.

The severity of the punishment was influenced by his previous criminal record.
