Siarhei Kireyenka was detained on September 29, 2021. He was charged with ‘inciting hatred’ and ‘insulting government official’ and taken into custody under Part 1 of Article 130 and Article 369 of the Criminal Code in the Zeltser case.
On September 23, 2022, the Homieĺ Regional Court commenced the trial of the political prisoner. On October 3, Judge Ruslan Tsaruk sentenced Kireyenka to three and a half years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
