Siarhei Kabarchuk was detained together with his son Pavel Kabarchuk.
Pro-government sources called them “saboteurs of the SBU”. They were found guilty under Part 3 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code (act of terrorism), Part 4 of Article 295 of the Criminal Code (illegal actions in relation to firearms, ammunition and explosives), Article 358-1 of the Criminal Code (agent activity), Part 3 of Article 333-1 of the Criminal Code (illegal cross-border transportation of poisonous, poisonous substances, radioactive materials, weapons, military equipment).
He was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony. The trial was conducted by Judge Yauhen Sharshniou.
On November 22, 2024, he was added to the "extremist list."
On December 5, 2024, the KGB included him on the "terrorist list."
