Stsiapan Talkachou was detained in Brest for publishing comments on the Internet in connection with the deaths of IT worker Andrei Zeltser and KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.
On August 26, 2022, Judge Nina Shastak convicted Talkachou of ‘inciting hatred’ and sentenced him to 2.5 years in a general-security penal colony under Article 130 of the Criminal Code.
The political prisoner served his sentence in full and was released from jail in September 2023.
