20-year-old Ruslan Mikhailau was accused of organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order (Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code) and of violence or threat of violence against an officer of internal affairs (Article 364 of the Criminal Code).

Judge Mikalai Serhiajevich found Ruslan guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 18 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.

He was expected to be released on November 19, 2023, according to human rights defenders.
