According to the Hrodna District Prosecutor's Office, Ruslan Krasau was charged with 'a number of extremism-oriented crimes'.
According to the investigation, in February 2017—November 2020, Krasau published posts on his page in the Odnoklasniki social network with insulting and slanderous statements and accusations of murder against Lukashenka.
On December 19, 2022, the Hrodna District Court convicted Krasau under Part 2 of Art. 368 ('Insulting the president of Belarus') and Part 2 of Art. 367 ('Defamation against the president of Belarus') of the Criminal Code. The judge Dzmitryi Hryshyn sentenced him to three (3) years of imprisonment in a general-security colony.
On August 20, 2024, he was pardoned and released.
