Ramuald Ulan is an entrepreneur based in Smarhoń. He is the former owner and editor-in-chief of the Novaya Gazeta Smorgoni newspaper.
He was found guilty of sharing on the VKontakte social media personal data of seven police officers, who were earlier involved in illegal detentions and false testimony in court. Such an act was regarded as slander (Article 188 of the Criminal Code).
According to the court decision, Ulan was ordered to serve two and a half years of of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary. On March 25, 2021, he was sent to serve his sentence at correctional facility No. 7 in Homieĺ.
