Piotr Piatrusha was charged under Art. 341 of the Criminal Code ('Desecration of buildings and damage to property').
The trial began on December 20.
Piatrusha was accused of drawing eleven white-red-white flags, using aerosol cans, in different places in Minsk (on power line poles, public transport stops, and on a road sign), in February 2021—September 2022.
On December 23, 2022, in the Bierazino District Court, the judge Dzmitryj Kaplij sentenced Piatrusha to six months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
Besides, the court resolved that his actions had caused damage to three state enterprises, engaged in service maintainance of energy facilities, roads and buildings, for a total amount of over BYN 700 (about USD 263 as of January 20, 2023).
Piatrusha fully admitted his guilt and repented. During the preliminary investigation, he compensated for the damage caused.
Piatrusha was released from prison in June 2023.
