Pavel Miakish is a former medical examiner from Hrodna. He was studying programming.
Miakish was convicted under Part 6 of Article 16 and Part 3 of Article 130 (‘Inciting hatred’ or enmity'), and Part 3 of Article 203-1 ('Illegal actions regarding privacy information and personal data’) of the Criminal Code. The Hrodna Regional Court sentenced him to five years and six months of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony.
Before the trial, Miakish was kept in remand prison #1 in Minsk. He is serving his sentence in penal colony #1 in Navapolack.
On August 26, 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs included the political prisoner in the 'List of extremists', and on March 14, 2023, the KGB added him to the 'List of terrorists'.
