Pavel Kharytonau was arrested on charges under Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code ('Financing extremist activities') for donations to initiatives that were later recognized as "extremist formations".
On January 23, 2023, Judge Zhanna Brysina sentenced Pavel in Minsk City Court to five years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. Pavel was also imposed a fine of 500 basic units.
On April 28, 2023, his sentence came into force after appeal.
