Pavel Aucharou is a defendant in a criminal case initiated after a protest of September 23, 2020 when Aliaksandr Lukashenka was inaugurated at a secret ceremony in Minsk.
Aucharou and his friend Emil Huseinau faced charges under three articles of the Criminal Code: Part 2 of Art. 293 (participation in riots), Part 1 of Art. 342 (active participation in group actions grossly violating public order) and Part 1 of Art. 363 (resistance to law enforcement officers).
Aucharou and Huseinau were found guilty of calling for participation in mass riots on September 23, which had been planned in advance "under the guise of mass events," and blocked traffic. They also "restricted the right of decent citizens to rest and freedom of movement" and resisted Interior Ministry officers.
Both men pleaded not guilty.
Pavel Aucharou and Emil Huseinau were both sentenced to 5 years in a medium-security penal colony.
It is known that from March 12 to 22, 2022 Pavel spent 10 days in the solitary confinement cell, then he was immediately placed in an enhanced security cell, first for a month, and then another four months were added.
On July 6, 2022, the Škloŭ District Court began considering Pavel's case under Part 2 of Article 411 of the Criminal Code for malicious disobedience to the demands of the administration of a penal institution. Judge Aliaksandr Tarakanav heard the case. It is known that Pavel was sentenced to 18 months in a penal colony, and his custody level was changed from medium to high.
