Mikita Naidzionau is a Belarusian poet and musician, the former frontman of the Hurma pop-rock band, and the author of several songs performed by various singers. In 2015, he became the winner of the 'Golden Apostrophe' award in the 'Debut' nomination for the best publication of poems in the Dziejasloŭ literary journal.
Human rights defenders received information that Mikita Naidzionau had been in the remand prison in Žodzina (Minsk region) at least since late April 2023. He was indicted under Article 342 of the Criminal Code ('Organization and preparation of actions grossly disrupting public order or active participation in them') for his participation in the 2020 post-election protests.
In July 2023, he was transferred from Remand Prison #8 in Žodzina (Minsk region) to Remand Prison #1 in Minsk.
His case was to be heard on July 19, 2023, in the Lieninsky District Court of Minsk, by Judge Maryna Klimchuk.
