Mikita Khilkevich was charged under two articles of the Criminal Code: Part 1 of Art. 342 (Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them) and Art. 341 of the Criminal Code (Desecration of buildings and damage to property).
In March 2022, the Čačersk district court tried three local residents in a series of hearings: Vadzim Dzenisenka, political prisoners Ryta Zotava and Mikita Khilkevich. On March 23, Judge Piotr Tsyhanok sentenced Khilkevich to two years in a general-security penal colony.
Mikita was supposed to be released on October 12, 2023.
