Mikhail Shabaliuk is a resident of Brest.

He was sentenced to three years in a penal colony on charges of resistance to police officers (Article 363 of the Criminal Code) for the events of August 9, 2020.

According to the indictment, he, along with another political prisoner Aliaksandr Babich, and other people "with a single criminal intent" tried to beat police officer Rusilau. Babich claims that he swung his foot only once, and there was no single criminal intent in his actions.

He was convicted on December 23 in the Maskoŭski District Court of Brest.

In September Mikhail served his sentence in full and was released from jail.
