Mikhail Karpeshka, a 41-year-old businessman, was accused of insulting Lukashenka under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code ('Insulting the president of Belarus').

On February 2, 2023, the court of the Lieninski District Court of Mahilioŭ found Karpeshka guilty and sentenced him to 18 months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. The case was heard by Judge Viktoryia Paliakova.
