Mikhail Ferenets is a citizen of Ukraine detained in Belarus on September 16. He was charged with organizing or actively participating in group actions that grossly violated public order (Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code).
Ferenets was ordered to be deported from Belarus and to be detained for the period necessary for deportation. On October 1, the expulsion decision was suspended.
Mikhail was under investigation by the Investigative Committee's office in Minsk since then.
On September 20, 2021, Mikhail Ferenets was sentenced to 3 years in prison on charges of “participation in actions that grossly violate public order” (Part 1 of Art. 342) and “vandalizing buildings and damage to property” (Part 4 of Art. 16, Part 4 of Art. 341 of the Criminal Code).
