Mikhail Chamuraka is an activist based in Dubroŭna, Viciebsk region.

He was sentenced by the Dubroŭna District Court to three years of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary under Art. 188 of the Criminal Code (slander).

On November 23, 2021, human rights activists learned that a new criminal case was opened against Mikhail Chamuraka, this time under Art. 130 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred). 

On November 26, 2021, "Viasna" human rights defenders received information that Mikhail Chamuraka who was serving his sentence in the Vaŭkavysk correctional facility No. 29 managed to escape from Belarus. He is currently abroad and safe.
