Mikalai Serhiyenia was detained in Minsk for publishing comments on the Internet in connection with the deaths of the IT worker Andrei Zeltser and the KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.

It is known that Serhiyenia was charged of ‘insulting a government official’ and ‘inciting hatred’ under Articles 369 and 130 of the Criminal Code.

The political prisoner was found guilty and sentenced to 20 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony and a fine of 3,200 Belarusian rubles (1,270 US dollars).

Serhiyenia served his full term and was released on November 11, 2022.
