Matsvei Mitsura was detained in Minsk for publishing comments on the Internet concerning the deaths of IT worker Andrei Zeltser and KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.

Mitsura was charged with ‘insult to a government official’ and ‘incitement to hatred’ under Article 369  and Part 1 of the Article 130 of the Criminal Code.

On October 7, 2022, Judge Ihar Ziamtsou of the Mahilioŭ Regional Court found the political prisoner guilty and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony and a fine of 3,200 Belarusian rubles ($1,250). The man's iPhone was also confiscated.
