On April 4, 2022, the Maskoŭski District Court of Minsk sentenced Maryna Sachyuka to two (2) years of freedom restriction with a referral to an open-type penal facility, under Article 369 of the Criminal Code ('Contempt of government official'), for an offensive comment about Prosecutor Assistant Alina Kasyanchyk posted on a Telegram channel.

She served her sentence from July 2022.

In mid-January 2023, her sentence was changed to freedom restriction without a referral to an open-type penal facility in connection with her health issues.
