Maryna Dubrouskaya is a volunteer of the Country for Living Foundation and an activist with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's presidential campaign.
She was detained on 9 July 2021 during "a large-scale KGB clearance operation against radicals". Maryna was charged under Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code (financing activities of an extremist formation). She was then transferred to the pre-trial detention center.
On November 10, 2021, Dubrouskaya was released, but placed under house arrest.
The charges against her were changed to a milder one, on ‘training and preparing of persons to participate in actions that grossly violate the public order, and their funding’ under Part 2 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code.
The trial began on October 17, 2022, in the Minsk Municipal Court. On November 11, 2022, Judge Dzina Kuchuk found Dubrouskaya guilty and sentenced her to 18 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. Maryna Dubrouskaya was arrested in the courtroom.
