Maksim Kronda was arrested on September 11, 2023. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (Insulting Lukashenka). 

According to the prosecution's materials, on September 18, 2021, Maxim posted a message in the Chat Elekhtarata on Telegram. The message was an insulting statement about Lukashenka, "knowing that other people would get acquainted with this message, and it humiliates the honor and dignity of the head of state. However, at that time he did not pay attention to such a message. During the examination of the mobile phone it was also found out that Kronda "subscribed to a number of destructive Telegram channels".

It is known that Maxim was sentenced right in the pre-trial detention center. His case was considered by Judge Maryna Skalkovich. On December 6, 2023, she announced the verdict —  one year of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
