Maksim Tsishkevich was sentenced to 24 months in a general-security penal colony in a criminal case of 'group actions that grossly violate public order' (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).

According to the indictment, on the night of August 9, 2020, Maksim Tsishkevich joined other protesters in central Minsk, where he walked on the roadway, shouted slogans, clapped his hands loudly, waved his arms, and showed offensive signs to police officers.

Tsishkevich served his sentence in penal colony #3 in Vićba, Viciebsk region.

In March 2023, the political prisoner was released.
