Kseniya Kotava was detained in early October 2022. After the arrest, regime media published a ‘repentant video’ of her admitting to taking part in protests.

On December 28, 2022, the Lieninski District Court of Minsk passed a verdict on the political prisoner. Kotava was found guilty under part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate the public order or active participation in them). Judge Maryna Klimchuk sentenced her to 2 1/2 years of restricted freedom under home confinement.
