Kiryl Davidziuk was detained on July 29, 2022, and charged with ‘desecrating state symbols’ and taken into custody under Article 370 of the Criminal Code for a broken pole of the state flag.

On October 3, 2022, the case of a political prisoner was heard at an off-site hearing in the Kobryn district police department. It is known that the prosecutor demanded 18 months' imprisonment. Davidziuk had a prior unspent conviction, 18 months of restricted freedom in an open-type penal facility, so the state prosecution asked for a total of 24 months of imprisonment in a penal colony. Judge Iryna Dziatsuk granted this request.
