Kanstantsin Mikhaltsou was sentenced on September 22, 2021 by the Rečyca District Court to three years in a penal colony under Art. 364, 342 and 368 of the Criminal Code for participating in a peaceful assembly, insulting the president and obstructing the detention of another participant in a peaceful assembly.
On election night, August 9, 2020, Mikhaltsou tried to prevent the arrest of a peaceful protester. In particular, he allegedly stood on the road to stop police vehicles. In addition, he was convicted of using violence against a police officer from the Rečyca district police department, Dzmitry Harai, and of posting a negative comment against Lukashenka in a Telegram channel.
