Kanstantsin Baisarau was accused of having filmed a military plane flying over the territory of Belarus on February 27, 2022, a few days after Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, and sent the video to the chatbot of an "extremist" Telegram channel.

Baisarau was charged under Part 1 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code (promoting extremist activity).

On July 1, 2022, the Brest Regional Court found him guilty and sentenced him to 24 months of imprisonment in a penal colony. The trial was headed by Judge Andrei Leshchanka, the prosecution side was supported by prosecutor Aliaksei Yaroshyk.

The defendant was taken into custody in the courtroom and placed in pre-trial detention.
