Katsiaryna Hibkaya

Katsiaryna Hibkaya was arrested on October 21, 2021, as a defendant in a criminal case on terrorism and was kept in the KGB pre-trial detention center until mid-December. The charge was later changed to Art. 342 of the Criminal Code ('Organization and active participation in group actions grossly disrupting public order'). Hibkaya was transferred to remand prison #1 in Minsk.

On May 14, 2022, the Lieninsky District Court of Minsk found Katsiaryna Hibkaya guilty and sentenced her to 18 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. The two months of remand in the KGB remand prison were not counted.

In August 2022, the political prisoner was transferred to penal colony #4 in Homieĺ.

Katsiaryna Hibkaya served her full sentence and was released on February 20, 2023.
