Katsiaryna Dzhyh was arrested for making comments on social media. Katsiaryna is a mother of four children.
She was found guilty of violating Part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code (calls for actions aimed at causing harm to the national security of the Republic of Belarus), Part 2 of Article 367 (slander against Lukashenka) and Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka). On July 26 and 27, 2023, Judge Alena Bachyshcha presided over the case at the Minsk Regional Court.
The sentence, however, remains undisclosed.
Katsiaryna is currently serving her sentence in penal colony No. 4.
On December 1, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs added Katsiaryna to the "extremist list".
On December 5, 2023, the KGB added Katsiaryna to the "terrorist list".
She was pardoned and released on September 16, 2024.
