Yury Viarshuk was sentenced to 2 years of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary (“khimiya”) under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code for publicly insulting a representative of the authorities.
Viarshuk was found guilty of posting an insulting comment under a video in which chairman of the regional executive committee, Salavei, was answering citizens' questions.
The convict was sent to serve the sentence.
Since January 5, 2022, is under home confinement for clemency.
