Yury Vinichuk was sentenced on June 9, 2021 to one and a half years of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary (“khimiya”) by the Brest District Court under Art. 368 of the Criminal Code for insulting the president.

According to the indictment, on September 3, 2020, while intoxicated, Yury Vinichuk called the police and spoke insultingly against Lukashenka while talking to the operator. Later the same day, during a conversation with officers of the Brest police department, he again insulted the president with obscene language.
