Yauhen Pekach was detained on January 14, 2021 on suspicion of participation in mass riots (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code). He was soon charged under this article.

On November 8, the Lieninski District Court of Brest sentenced the political prisoner to 4 years and 11 months in a medium-security penal colony on charges under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code.
