Yauhen Kurtsevich is the father of two minor children.

On October 10, 2023, he was convicted under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them). Judge Anastasiya Osipchyk sentenced Yauhen to two and a half years of restricted freedom under home confinement ("domashnyaya khimiya"). After the verdict was announced, he was released from custody in the courtroom.

On November 3, 2023, he was added to the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens, and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
