Yauhen Hurynau was detained on September 13, 2022 and later remanded in custody for participating in the protests (under Article 342 of the Criminal Code).
Hurynau had worked as a project coordinator for the Aniv Foundation for Development and Support of Armenian Studies. For their participation in the project, he and other project participants were awarded the Marshal Baghramyan medal, one of the most honorable awards in Armenia.
On December 29, the Pieršamajski District Court of Minsk found him guilty under part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code ("Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate the public order, or active participation in them") and sentenced to two and a half years of restricted freedom under home confinement. The political prisoner was released in the courtroom.
