Yauhen Emilit was arrested on January 24, 2023. Ten days later he was transferred to remand prison #1 in Minsk on charges of 'active participation in group actions grossly breaching public order' (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).

Yauhen Emilit graduated from the Belarusian National Technical University and worked as an engineer. He is fond of sports.

On April 26, 2023, in the Kastryčnicki District Court of Minsk, Judge Ina Sivets found Yauhen Emilit guilty and sentenced him to three years of freedom restriction under home confinement. He was released in the courtroom.
