Yauhen Damaratski is from Žlobin, Homieĺ region. He was convicted under Art. 342 ('Active participation in group actions grossly breaching public order') and Art. 364 ('Violence against the police') of the Criminal Code.
Damaratski was accused of attending a protest on the night of August, 2020, and grossly violating public order, obstructing public transport and walking on the road. He also called on others not to obey the demands of the police and shouted slogans. He allegedly actively resisted police officers, threw stones and bottles at them, and hit their gear.
Damaratski was convicted on March 18, 2021. The Court of Žlobin sentenced him to 24 months of imprisonment in a general security penal colony.
The political prisoner fully served his sentence in penal colony #15 in Mahilioŭ and was released on February 9, 2023.
