Yanina Malash, an activist of the Free Trade Union of Metalworkers, was arrested on April 19, 2022. After she was interrogated, she was placed in a remand prison and charged with Article 342 of the Criminal Code ('Group actions grossly disrupting public order').
She was first placed in the KGB remand prison and then transferred to remand prison #1 (both in Minsk).
On November 15, 2022, the Maskoŭski District Court of Minsk found the political prisoner guilty and sentenced her to 18 months of imprisonment.
On January 27, 2023, the Minsk City Court considered the police prisoner's appeal against the sentence.
On February 10, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs added the police prisoner to the "list of extremists".
Yanina Malash served her sentence in women's penal colony # 4 in Homieĺ.
On May 27, 2023, the political prisoner was released, having served her full sentence.
