Yan Aliakseichykau was sentenced to one year of imprisonment under Article 370 of the Criminal Code (desecration of state symbols).
Yan Aliakseichykau and Siarhei Aleinikau were found guilty of having climbed up on the roofs of administrative buildings, torn the state flags from the local House of Culture and the executive committee, and then threw them on the ground in the night from 16 to 17 of January 2022 in the agrotown of Pakaliubičy of the Homieĺ region. They were intoxicated at the time. The state prosecution believes that the men acted in a group of persons by prior conspiracy and wanted to "express contempt for the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus".
