Yahor Leuchyk was detained on August 30, 2021 in a criminal case for commenting on the Internet and charged under four articles of the Criminal Code:
- Art. 342 of the Criminal Code – Calls for group actions grossly violating public order;
- Art. 391 of the Criminal Code – Insulting a judge;
- Art. 368 of the Criminal Code – Insulting the President;
- Art. 369 of the Criminal Code – Insulting a government official.
On March 11, 2022, 18-year-old Yahor Leuchyk was sentenced to 15 months in a general-regime penal colony. The sentence was passed by Judge Siarhei Vasileuski. The state prosecution was represented by the senior assistant prosecutor of Puchavičy district Nadzeya Kalita.
On April 16, 2022, Yahor was released.
