Yahor Kurzin is 21 years old. He is a former student of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. He was arrested in late September 2022, while trying to cross the Belarus-Lithuania border.
He is on trial together with Anita Bakunovich and Mikalai Kuliashou for an 'attempt to illegally cross the border' under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 3 of Article 371, and for 'evading military conscription' under Part 1 of Article 435 of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
On April 5, 2023, in the Hrodna Regional Court, Judge Viktar Sianko sentenced Yahor Kurzin to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
