Iryna Palianina is a resident of Pastavy, Viciebsk region.

On April 26, the Pastavy District Court sentenced Iryna Palianina to two years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. The term is appointed by partial addition of punishments: under Art. 369, the woman was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility, and under Art. 295 – one and a half years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

Palianina was found guilty of posting an insulting comment on a social network under the photo of head of the Pastavy police department Aliaksandr Rybakou in December last year. She was also convicted of storing small-caliber rifle cartridges left by her dead father.

The political prisoner served her sentence in full and was released in November 2022.
