Iryna Bud-Husaim is an accountant of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions (BCDTU). She was arrested on April 19, 2022, as part of a criminal case and placed in a pre-trial detention center. According to the preliminary information, she was charged with Article 342 of the Criminal Code ('group actions that grossly violate public order').
On December 20, 2022, the trial began in the City Court of Minsk. On December 26, the verdict was passed: Bud-Husaim was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. This is the very punishment the prosecution asked for.
