Illia Trakhtenberg is an expelled student of the BSU's Faculty of Mathematics. On November 12, his home was searched and the guy was detained as part of a criminal case under Art. 342, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (organization or participation in group actions that gravely violate public order).
Illia later faced formal charges. He was first taken into custody in the KGB pre-trial prison, but then was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 1.
On July 16, 2021, Trakhtenberg was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
The political prisoner served his sentence in full and was released on November 30, 2022.
