Ihar Prazhennikau

Ihar Prazhennikau was detained on October 4 during the March for the Liberation of Political Prisoners as part of an administrative case. He was not released after a 13-day term of detention. The man was charged under Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them).

In particular, he was accused of obstructing traffic and pasting several stickers to disable security cameras outside the notorious detention center in Akrestsin Street.

On February 17, Judge Yuliya Chyzh of the Frunzienski District Court of Minsk sentenced Ihar Prazhennikau to one and a half years in a general-security penal colony under Part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code.

Ihar served his sentence in full and was released on January 13, 2022.
