Ihar Harchaniuk is a resident of Brest, a defendant in a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code (participation in riots) opened after the protests in the city in August 2020.

Harchaniuk was detained for the first time for 72 hours on October 23, 2020. He was then released on bail, but was detained again on April 12, 2021. The man was then remanded in a pre-trial prison.

On November 8, the Lieninski District Court of Brest sentenced the political prisoner to 4 years in a medium-security penal colony on charges under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code.
