Henrykh (Henadz) Akalatovich is a 64-year-old priest from Valozhyn. He was detained in November 2023.
He had suffered a heart attack and had recently undergone stomach surgery for cancer; he requires medical supervision and constant medication. He is being held in the KGB pre-trial detention center.
Before the change of status, he was denied warm clothes and food. In the first days of his detention, the priest was given only toiletries, underwear and pills – he suffers from serious illnesses and needs to take several types of medication.
The priest is charged with high treason (Article 356 of the Criminal Code).
