Dzmitryi Zhydko is a mounter from Ivanava, Brest region. He was convicted of hooliganism according to Part 1 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code, in breach of the non-bis in idem rule.
Prosecutor assistant Karyna Shymko requested two years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony as a punishment for Dzmitryi Zhydko, reduced by one year taking into account the amnesty. On April 10, 2023, in the Ivanava District Court, Judge Mikalai Stasevich sentenced Dzmitryi Zhydko to 12 months imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
According to the case file, on February 27, 2022, during the referendum, Dzmitryi Zhydko wrote a message addressed to Putin and Lukashenka on a ballot paper and showed it to the election commission members. In March 2022, he was already punished for that with 15 days of administrative arrest under Article 19.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Petty hooliganism).
