On May 14, 2021, Dzmitry Taratun was sentenced to three years of restricted freedom in an open-type penitentiary under Part 2 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code ('Hooliganism') for spray-painting protest graffiti on the wall of a building.
According to the case file, in early February 2021, Dzmitry Taratun and Dziyana Kazak painted a "picture of social and political content" on an electrical substation in Minsk, which caused property damage to the Minskenergo government-owned power supply company.
On May 26, 2023, the political prisoner was released under amnesty from open-type penal colony No. 43 in Mahilioŭ.
