Dzmitryi Ivanou was sentenced to three years of restricted freedom in an open-type penal facility for participating in the 2020 protests under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Group actions grossly disrupting public order).

He has been serving his sentence since July 1, 2022, in open-type penal facility #21 in Mazyr, Homieĺ region.

It is known that on October 30, 2022, the political prisoner was detained there.

On April 18, 2023, the Court of Mazyr and Mazyr District held a trial to toughen for punishment to Dzmitryi Ivanou. He was placed in the detention center in Mazyr. Judge Anatol Strelchanka ruled to transfer the political prisoner to a general-security penal colony for 8 months and 11 days.
